Services >> Travel Medicine And Vaccinations

Travel health is an emerging specialty, increasingly recognized as important in preserving health of those travelling overseas, both young and older travellers. Woodview Family Doctors adopt a comprehensive approach to travel health – its much much more than vaccines. This encompasses the diseases specific to your destination (malaria, typhoid, polio etc.), and multiple other risk areas: air travel, backpacking, thrombosis, sun stroke, sexual health, adventure sports, cruising, diving, travel insurance and safe food/water.

Travel vaccines are very safe and highly effective. Ideally you should make a travel medicine appointment at least six weeks before travel. We will also vaccinate “last minute” travellers “better late than never”. The cost of vaccination is modest, relative to the potential consequences of contracting serious illness overseas.

We use American and UK online resources to provide accurate reliable advice to travellers, and suggest you view these.
